Suspended Brighton boss Gus Poyet is chasing the Stoke City job .

Poyet yesterday urged Brighton to resolve the row - because he does not want to miss out on the Stoke job.

A source close to Poyet told The Sun: "He would like a conclusion to the situation at Brighton so he and the club can move forward and make plans for the future.

"At the moment there has been no official approach from Stoke.

"They would have to go direct to Brighton and then it is a question of whether Brighton will grant permission for Gus to talk to them."
