Portsmouth's Diarra rules out Tottenham move

Portsmouth's Lassana Diarra has ruled out the possibility of moving to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and insists he will be at Fratton Park next season.

The tough-tackling midfielder signed from Arsenal in January and has been indispensable for the club already.

The workhorse has also earned a place in the France squad in recent months, impressing while playing out of position at right back, and in his natural position of midfield.

He has recently been linked with yet another move, this time to Arsenal's bitter rivals Tottenham, who are currently being revolutionised by Juande Ramos, with Diarra thought to be a valuable component in midfield to complement the likes of incoming playmaker Luka Modric.

Diarra has responded by insisting he relishes his first team place with Pompey and that he wants to win something.

"I can play every week with Portsmouth. It is a good team, proved by reaching the FA Cup Final, and that is why I'm here," he said.

"I want to win something with Portsmouth and I will be here next season."
