Portsmouth are moving for Charlton Athletic midfielder Matt Holland.
The Mirror says Republic of Ireland midfielder Holland, 33, was only offered a one-year, £15,000-a-week deal by Charlton boss Alan Pardew.
But Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has offered him the chance to stay in the Premiership for another year after his contract at Charlton expired.
It would be Portsmouth's second signing from Charlton after defender Hermann Hreidarsson moved to Fratton Park on a two-year deal.
