Portsmouth's Brown: Rooney admits it was no pen

Portsmouth midfielder Michael Brown has revealed Wayne Rooney admits Manchester United didn't deserve the first of their two penalties in Saturday's 4-1 win.

Brown was adjudged to have caught the England striker midway through the first half for the first spot-kick of the afternoon with TV replays inconclusive.

The Blues midfielder said: "Wayne Rooney said to me that he slipped.

"I've watched it on the video and there looks like a tiny bit of contact, but it looks like his right foot goes from underneath him. To me, it looked like he slipped but it's one of those things."

If Rooney did admit the penalty should not have been awarded during the game, he had changed his mind afterwards in TV interviews.

Rooney said: "I felt I got touched, I went down and sometimes they are given, sometimes they're not.

"But I thought it was still a penalty."
