Portsmouth are locked in talks with Valencia for midfielder Edu.

Pompey boss Tony Adams is close to landing his former Arsenal team-mate Edu, 30, on loan from Valencia.

He said: "I need to get people in as you don't lose players like Diarra and Defoe, and before them Muntari and Mendes, without weakening your squad."
