Portsmouth are ready to pounce on former Wigan striker Amr Zaki.
The Egyptian international, who began his career in the English Premier League with a bang when at Wigan, has since experienced difficulties and returned to his homeland club Zamalek.
But Pompey are prepared to give him another chance in the top flight despite being branded the 'worst professional he (ex-Wigan boss Steve Bruce) had ever worked with.'
Portsmouth officials were on hand to see Zaki score for his country in their World Cup play-off win over Algeria on the weekend and have mooted the possibility of a loan deal for him.
