Portsmouth hope for Real Madrid assistance over cash problems

Portsmouth hope for a boost over their cash-flow problems.

The People says Pompey are hoping to ease their money worries by bringing forward an £8million payment for Lassana Diarra.

Cash-strapped Pompey are close to doing a deal with a leading finance company to get their hands on the cash from Real Madrid for the French midfielder to help them settle a tax bill they need to pay in a hurry.

Diarra was sold in the last window but only half of the £20m fee was up front.
