Portsmouth fans ready to rattle Man Utd boss Ferguson

Portsmouth fans are ready to rumble Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's plans today.

Ferguson is banned from the touchline and admits he fears his line of communication to the away dugout could be drowned out by the home support.

Fratton Park's biggest fan John Westwood has pledged to turn up the Pompey Chimes for Fergie.

Antiquarian bookseller Westwood, who will rouse the crowd with his bell, bugle and two snare drums, insisted: "If we can stop any line of communication between Fergie and his team, we will do it.

"We're famous for our noise and once the fans see Fergie's comments they will make even more.

"Fratton Park is a proper, old-fashioned ground and it's nice to think the fans have a part to play.

"I used to take a couple of big bass drums into the ground until I was stopped because of health and safety rules. But if anything, the snare drums are even noisier."
