Avram Grant is expected to join fellow Israeli Tal Ben Haim at Chelsea in the coming weeks.

Chelsea finally signed the former Bolton defender yesterday although he will not be the only Israeli joining Stamford Bridge this summer, says the Independent. The defender, a free transfer, came on the recommendation of Israeli coach Avram Grant who is expected to join the backroom staff in time for the pre-season tour of America.

Grant, who is currently the director of football at Portsmouth, is a former coach of the Israel national side and Roman Abramovich has long been keen to install him as part of the Chelsea backroom staff despite Mourinho's opposition.
