Portsmouth chief dismisses Hull link for Nugent

Portsmouth Chief Executive Peter Storrie has dismissed reports linking David Nugent with a switch to Premier League new-boys Hull.

The former Preston man has struggled to make an impact in his maiden Pompey season, although is desperate to stay.

An offer of around £3m - the initial outlay Pompey paid for him - may tempt the club to do business.

But Storrie is adamant no approaches for any player have been received.

He said: "That's a new one to me. I haven't heard about that.

"There has not been any contact with us for David. In fact, we have not had any approach for any of our players at this stage."
