Portsmouth boss Paul Hart says victory over Wigan Athletic is proof they will stay up this season.
Hart is confident but isn't getting carried away.
He said: "At the end of the season, I maintain the belief that we will be in a safe position.
"But most people have heard me say it before but a pat on the back is only six inches from a kick up the backside, so I don't get too excited.
"The players need to enjoy this, but should try not to get too excited because we know there is another game round the corner.
"It's pleasing for everyone at the whole club - but now we need to start thinking about Blackburn."
