Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has hailed the talent of his Nigerian legend Nwankwo Kanu.

He said: "Kanu was captain. He really is my type of player. He came on last week at Newcastle and I've haven't seen anything like it in my life, the skill, the class - he even nutmegged the referee once. He is unbelievable.

"The lads were all talking about him after the game. Great big feet, lovely touch. You don't play for Ajax, go to Milan and end up at Arsenal for nothing."
