Portsmouth boss Tony Adams has slammed Blackburn chairman John Williams for sacking Paul Ince after just 21 matches in charge. Williams acted after a run of three wins in 17 games saw Blackburn slip to 19th place and one point off the bottom of the Barclays Premier League.
"I like Paul a tremendous amount and I was gutted, absolutely gutted for him. It is spineless, the man who employed him can sack him just as quickly as that," said Adams.
"You don't get a chance to build, you don't get a chance to do anything. You do a few press conferences, throw a team out there for two minutes. It is just ridiculous.
"He (Ince) is a good man and you are in danger of killing the coaches in this country, you really are.
"I have seen them go out of the game very quickly - the Bryan Robsons and Glenn Hoddles. Great coaches who could be utilised, who could be helping people.
"I was very angry."
