Portsmouth boss Adams sticking with lone striker system

Portsmouth boss Tony Adams is ready to stick with his lone striker system.

Adams said: "We have committed suicide on a few occasions playing 4-4-2.

"The system is just not working for us. There's a definite change going on at the club and I need to make it happen quickly. We delivered a strong performance at Arsenal.

"It was important to be tough and strong, and it is also going to be important to be tough and strong against Manchester City. We have something to build on. That's what I will be doing.

"There is a blend between being 'must win' and thinking 'we can't lose'.

"There is a balance. We have to strike the right balance. David James keeps telling me we can't go on conceding two goals a game. It's not the way to go forward. So against Manchester City I will be looking to be very strong again."
