Portsmouth boss Tony Adams is delighted to be able to lean on new assistant coach Johnny Metgod.

Adams said: "I worked with him a Feyenoord. He was calm and I needed a sounding board. I think he took pity on this lonely English man and he was very kind to me.

"He talks a lot of sense. He's been around the block and is a few years older than me. I just need someone who doesn't want my job, who is no threat and who is calm."
