Port Vale boss Adams relaxed over contract extension

Port Vale boss Micky Adams is confident of signing a two-year contract extension, despite a delay in agreeing terms. Adams was rewarded with an improved offer to his current one-year deal in September after leading the side to a solid start to the new campaign.

Although the contract remains with the former Leicester manager's legal team, Adams says that he still intends to agree to the deal which will keep him at the club until 2012.

Adams told The Sentinel: "I've had discussions with the powers that be and when there is something to announce, we'll do it. But I would expect it to be in the next two weeks.

"I've never said I didn't want to sign it or that I wanted to leave. There are no major stumbling blocks, but why pay an expensive lawyer if you're not going to use him?"
