Polish security beefed up for Celtic keeper Boruc

The Polish FA are hiring private security for Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc ahead of their trip to Northern Ireland. The Northern Irish FA have assured Boruc and his team-mates there will be maximum security before, during and after the game.

And his own soccer chiefs are looking to recruit Poland's top security firm, Agencja Zubrzycki, to ensure the team leave Belfast unscathed.

Agency owner Sylwester Zubrzycki said: "We will be prepared for anything that comes our way.

"We already have the experience, having protected people at major football events such as the World Cup and European Championships.

"Working in Belfast will not be a problem to us."

Polish FA secretary general Zdzislaw Krecina confirmed security at the team hotel will also be stepped up.

He said: "I can assure everyone we will do everything to ensure that Boruc, and every other member of the squad, feel safe in Belfast.

"The hotel wing that we have hired will be isolated and under our complete control.

"Everything possible will be done to ensure the chances of someone from outside getting in will be virtually nil.

"Outside of our hotel, it is the responsibility of the Northern Irish FA to ensure all safety measures are taken.

"The two associations have a very good relationship and we will co-operate in every way possible to ensure this remains nothing more than a concern."
