Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes Paul Pogba is such a god player that he could one day make a top quality centre-back.

The Frenchman is mainly deployed as a central midfielder, who can operate between defence and attack, but according to Mourinho has the ability to move back into the heart of defence when his career moves towards its twilight.

"He's a top player and I think he could be a phenomenal central defender," Mourinho told Sky Sports in an exclusive interview of the 23-year-old.

"With the quality of his pass, with his aerial game, with his agility in such a big body, for his defensive side of the game, coming from the back with the ball, he would be a phenomenal central defender, too."
