Pochettino not anxious about hectic Tottenham schedule

Mauricio Pochettino is embracing the heavy schedule that Tottenham are set to experience.

Spurs have six fixtures in 17 days, starting with Thursday's Europa League Round of 32 clash with Fiorentina, and culminating with a short trip to QPR on March 7.

Many would shy away from the challenge of playing so many matches in less than a three-week period but Pochettino insists he and his squad are looking forward to getting into a rhythm during the hectic time.

"This is our 42nd official game tomorrow in seven months," Pochettino said ahead of the home meeting with La Viola.

"It's important to manage the squad and always analyse after the games each case and each player. And after to be clever and select the best player to play in each game.

"For me, I prefer to play every three days because it's a good sign we are in all competitions. We have a strong squad for playing in the Europa League, Premier League and the final of Capital One Cup against Chelsea. I am happy.

"There is not a special worry about that. All the squad are fit and we are in a very good way."

Between tomorrow and March 7, Spurs host West Ham United in the league, head to Fiorentina for the Europa return leg, take on Chelsea in the league cup decider on March 1 and meet Swansea City at White Hart Lane before taking on the R's at Loftus Road.
