Plymouth Argyle are extending the loan of Burnley fullback Richard Eckersley.

Eckersley's loan spell at Plymouth has been extended until the end of the season.

Eckersley, on loan from Burnley, suffered an ankle injury during the Pilgrims' 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe but is on the way back to fitness so head coach Paul Mariner has moved to keep the 21-year-old until May 2.

The defender made his Argyle bow in a 1-1 home draw with Preston North End on March 6.
