UEFA president Michel Platini has again declared Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo should not win the Ballon d'Or this year. Platini insists the winner should go to one of the World Cup winning German team.
"I think that the performance of European teams, and in particular the performance of Germany, will be recognised for their value and that many European players will be rewarded," Platini told Efe.
"Several players deserve to win the Ballon d'Or, but I am of the opinion that in a World Cup year, the prize should go to a world champion. This is consistent with what I said four years ago, when, in my opinion, the prize should have been awarded to a Spanish player."
