UEFA president Michel Platini has jumped to the defence of Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri after his clash with a journalist last week.
Many in the French media were left shocked and disgusted by Nasri's behaviour and language during the bust-up.
But Platini says calls for a lengthy ban are wrong.
"If I got suspended every time I insulted a journalist I wouldn't have had many caps," he said.
"Whether Samir Nasri deserves something? I have heard talk of two-year suspension but that's absolutely ludicrous."
