Peru international striker Claudio Pizarro says he's joined Chelsea to win trophies.

The 28-year-old Peru striker, who won the German Bundesliga crown with Bayern Munich in 2006, completed a summer move to Stamford Bridge after bringing the curtain down a six-year spell in Bavaria.

"It was the right time to leave Munich, but I am still sad for having said goodbye to them," Pizarro told Libero newspaper.

"But a new opportunity appeared, I have a new challenge to face and I'm delighted with it.

"Now, I have the opportunity to win the Champions League with a great team and a great coach.

"My goal is to win the Premier League title and all the other cups we'll play in."
