Empoli winger Piotr Zielinski has walked back claims of meeting Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

The Polish international said yesterday that he had spoken with the Reds manager.

“For now I want to focus on the League," Zielinski told Sportowe Fakty.

“We still have to finish, and then there's the European Championships. My club and country are the most important thing at the moment.

“There was contact between Liverpool and Empoli, I can't deny that, but I've never personally talked to Klopp.

“I feel good at Empoli, and frankly I'd prefer to stay here for another year, but I know my registration belongs to Udinese.

“If I have to go back to them then I'll make my choices."
