Former Italian ref Pierluigi Collina has revealed UEFA are rethinking the game's red card.
Collina says UEFA "want to reconsider" the rule awarding a red card as well as a penalty for a clear scoring opportunity.
"UEFA want to reconsider the rule on a clear scoring opportunity, which if in the box leads to a penalty, straight red card and ban," Collina told the Corriere della Sera.
"As of today, that is how all these fouls are penalised. If it is an honest attempt to play the ball, then a penalty and yellow card would be enough.
"However, if the foul is voluntary, then the red card would remain."
