New signing Jordan Pickford knew about Everton's slew of youngsters through watching BBC program, Match of the Day.

Tom Davies, Mason Holgate and Ademola Lookman all played a part in the Toffees seventh placed finish in the Premier League last season.

"It's great to be part of a team like that," he told the club's website.

"You don't see so much youth given a chance nowadays so I'm looking forward to getting the chance to work with all the young lads who are coming through.

"I watched Match Of The Day all season and every week there always seemed to be a new lad from Everton coming through the ranks, so to be involved with a team like that is great."
