Perth Glory striker Dadi admits he's in Newcastle Jets talks

Newcastle Jets are chasing Perth Glory centre-forward Eugene Dadi for their Asian Champions League campaign. The 35-year-old Ivory Coast international has become a fan favourite at the Glory this season, scoring eight goals for the equal second-highest tally in the A-League.

Dadi said yesterday that his preference was to remain at Perth, but conceded he was impressed by Newcastle.

"What I can tell you is Newcastle could have been my first club in the A-League, but it didn't happen at the time," Dadi told the Newcastle Herald.

"I know they have a good manager [Gary van Egmond] and great players like Joel Griffiths. For me, he [Griffiths] is one of the best strikers I'm quite impressed by what he's doing."
