Perth Glory defender Todd out of Central Coast clash

Perth Glory will be without key central defender Andy Todd for Sunday's home clash with Central Coast Mariners.

The 36-year old former Derby County star is continuing his recovery from a hip injury and has been deemed unavailable for the vital Week 18 fixture.

The injury to Todd has created a headache for coach Ian Ferguson who already has defenders Naum Sekulovski and Brent Griffiths sidelined.

One defender who will be out on the pitch is Scott Neville and he is well aware just how important this match is after a week off, especially as the Glory have won once in their last 14 outings.

"Last week was a really good chance to recap on where we are and really give the next eight or nine weeks a real go," said Neville.

"We've had a couple of meetings about setting goals, play your positions and shape.

"With the way we've played and the results that we got, we didn't expect to be still in the situation where we could make finals.

"I think now that we've had a really good, hard look at ourselves we need to start picking up points to reach our goal of making the finals.

"Hopefully we can get into that last finals' spot and that's what we're all aiming towards, so that's where we'll hopefully take the ship."
