Perpetually injured Sturridge faces more time on Liverpool sidelines

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could be set for another stint on the sidelines due to a new hamstring problem, according to reports.

The Daily Express, among many other outlets, is reporting Sturridge picked up the injury in the Reds' 2-0 loss to Newcastle United on the weekend.

Sturridge netted a brace in his first starting appearance under new boss Jurgen Klopp in the 6-1 Capital One cup thrashing of Southampton last week, but was on the bench for the clash with the Magpies as Liverpool's medical staff looked to ease him back into first team football.

Sturridge's season has already been heavily disrupted by knee and foot injuries after he missed the start of the campaign following hip surgery during the summer.
