Pellegrini trying to understand West Ham slump

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has been facing the press ahead of a trip to Chelsea at the weekend and admitted it is difficult to explain the Hammers recent slump in form.

"It's not good enough when you don't win a game. Every club has bad moments

"You must find the diagnostic - why we started the season so well."

On the Chelsea game, Pellegrini says he wants to see a team that "never gives up".

"I think it's impossible to try to win a game when you concede three goals before 50 minutes" he said.

"Against Tottenham and Newcastle we didn't give up, we scored two goals in the second half.

"I think that the character of the team must demonstrate that we are trying to resolve this situation and improve our results. We must improve our personal performance and improve our team performance."

"With three points more, maybe we are in seventh position in the table," he adedd.

"I hope that we are going to try to revert these results."
