Manuel Pellegrini is ready to take charge of Liverpool.

The Sun says former Real Madrid coach Pellegrini is in the running for the Kop job.

He told friends over the weekend that he was "heading for the Premier League" but refused to reveal to which club.

Pellegrini, 56, was axed by Real last month after just one year in charge.

Real finished second to Barcelona in La Liga and lost in the last 16 in the Champions League.
