PCP willing to meet Newcastle asking price

Amanda Staveley's PCP Capital Partners are ready to meet the asking price of Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley.

The Daily Express says Staveley is prepared to meet Ashley's £300million asking price to buy Newcastle.

The pair had hit a £50m wall last month which threatened the takeover of the club.

But Staveley, 44, is upping her offer.

Ashley, 53, who initially wanted the sale completed before Christmas, will now reportedly wait until next month's announcement of the new Premier League TV deal before deciding.

But struggling Toon will apparently have NO war chest to spend this month.
