Pardew wants West Brom to 'fight like hell' to avoid shocking record

Alan Pardew knows his West Bromwich Albion players must 'fight like hell' to get a result against Liverpool.

The Baggies will try and snap a run of 15 games without win when they travel to Anfield tomorrow night.

A loss will mean Albion will break an 139-year record of 16 matches without a win.

And Pardew says his side must be smart and dogged to avoid achieving such an embarrassing feat.

"It's a game that you have to look forward to as players because it is a venue and stadium you dream of playing at when you're growing up," Pardew said.

"Having said that we are in a situation where we need points, and as much as we need to enjoy Wednesday, we need to fight like hell to get something out of the game.

"If you're a manager [like Klopp] and you've got players like Can, Wijnaldum and Sturridge who can't even get in the team then you're in a very decent position offensively.

"I don't think anyone would argue that is their strength - with the ball, with their attacking players - but they do have weaknesses and it's whether you can exploit them. That's what we have got to try and do.

"I was disappointed on Saturday after Swansea because the work we'd done during the week wasn't reflected in the game and I want to see that reflected in the performance against Liverpool.

"We've got to turn up, bring our best game and hopefully it is enough."
