Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew says he is still eager to bring Andy Carroll back to the club.
The Liverpool striker has been linked with a possible return to the North East but Pardew has made it clear that a proposed deal will only be made possible provided the Toon board are keen to pay for his services.
"That is above me that deal, it is a financial deal that will be done at board level if Liverpool agree," said Pardew who would have to pay around £17million for Carroll.
"If I was saying on a playing level would I like him in the squad, of course I would he would add a nice dimension to us."
