Newcastle United have posted scouts to the African Nations Cup.

Toon boss Alan Pardew has revealed he will be sending his talent spotters to the African Cup of Nations.

Asked if he would be assigning members of his scouting network to Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, Pardew, who has kept his cards close to his chest this January, told the Evening Chronicle: "Yes, we are going to monitor it."
