Pardew not getting carried away with Newcastle position

Newcastle United's Alan Pardew says his side will not get too far ahead of themselves in relation to their current Premier League position.

The Toon beat Bolton 2-0 today to move above Chelsea into fifth and equal on points with fourth-placed Tottenham with six games to go.

Newcastle are now every chance of pushing for a Champions League spot but Pardew feels it is important to just keep rolling along and not looking too far ahead.

"I said all along that if we can get to the last six games and be in and around, we will give it a go," he told Sky Sports.

"That is what our fans want to see us do - an honest commitment to win the game. That is what we have done all year.

"It has got us where we are now. We are not going to get carried away by it."
