Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew admits Shane Ferguson has a big chance.
Pardew pulled him out of the reserve-team tour of Italy last week with Premier League action in mind.
Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "We kept Ferguson here rather then send him to Italy because he is close to the first-team squad now.
"I see him ultimately as a full-back, but he needs to get stronger.
"He is on the milk and steak diet, rather than the chicken and pasta, it is all about protein!
"He has a great chance here."
