Crystal Place have announced a record pre-tax profit of £23million for the financial year 2013-14 and boss Alan Pardew is really excited about the club's growing financial power.

Speaking before the home clash with champions Manchester City on Monday night, Pardew said: "It suggests we are on a great financial footing, and we are already looking to improve, the team, the stadium and the training ground.

"We want to grow the club as quickly as we can, and if we can recruit well with three or four additions in the transfer market, I believe we can be candidates for a top ten place."
