Pardew: Crystal Palace can get Zaha back into England squad

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew insists Wilfried Zaha can play his way into the England squad by staying at Selhurst Park.

The former Manchester United wideman won the last of his two caps for England almost four years ago and Pardew says he can add to those with Sam Allardyce keeping an eye on Palace.

"We're trying to help Wilf to become a better player," Pardew said. "We think his ambitions to play for England can be realised here, and there's no reason why that can't happen.

"Sam was at our game last week and I think he was probably running the rule over (Andros) Townsend, Scotty Dann, Wilf, maybe even Wardy (Joel Ward) and (James) Tomkins.

"I'll try and be as fair and honest as I can be with Wilf, and try and take his game forward. I've probably spent more time with Wilf and (Yannick) Bolasie than with any other players at the training ground.

"I'd like to think there's been an improvement in both. One I've lost. I don't intend to lose the other one, and the chairman's feelings have obviously enhanced that."
