Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is confident fans will be happy with what they saw in defeat to Manchester City.
Pardew believes most fans will have left the ground on Sunday night cautiously optimistic about what lies ahead.
"I think our fans have seen enough to know we are going to be decent this year and give it a good go," he said.
"We have good options from the bench and there are still players to come back.
"De Jong and Tiote would have made a big difference for us against City."
