Papac predicts Rangers will recover for Valencia clash

Sasa Papac admits Rangers have no option but to forget their draw against Inverness when they face Valencia in the Champions League. The Scottish champions had high hopes of claiming 10 wins out of their opening 10 games in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League when the Highlanders came calling, but in the end had to settle for a 1-1 draw/

The Gers must now pick themselves back up again as they travel to Spain to take on Valencia at the Mestalla on Tuesday night.

"We didn't lose the game but, normally when you play for Rangers, a point at home isn't enough," said the full-back.

"But we can correct this and we must show this in the next game, especially against a team like Valencia, who will give us a very hard game in Spain.

"We know how difficult it is to play against Spanish teams. We will see what happens."

A win against Inverness would have handed Rangers their best start to a season in a staggering 112 years, and Papac insists that should have been enough of an incentive.

He said: "We can capture records and that's enough motivation for us.

"But we just weren't clever enough, especially in the second half. We are frustrated because we scored early and we went one goal up.

"But it's not easy and in the second half we saw that it wasn't simple. Inverness played well in the second half especially and took a point."
