Palmeiras midfielder Danilo calm amid Arsenal transfer interest

Palmeiras midfielder Danilo is staying calm amid talk of a January move to Arsenal.

The Sun says Arsenal believes an improved £26 million bid can convince Palmeiras to cash in.

Technical director Edu is a long-term admirer of Danilo, having first shown an interest in the midfielder earlier this year. His ability to operate as a progressive No.6 matches the profile of player the club is looking for, with further backup for the often injured Thomas Partey required.

However, the midfielder has insisted that he's fully committed to his current side.

"About going abroad, there is still nothing," he told Band Sports. "As I have always said, I leave it to my agents (to sort out). I'm still focused on Palmeiras."
