Palermo president Zamparini wants Miccoli to leave over Mafia probe

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini wants Fabrizio Miccoli to leave after he became involved in a Mafia investigation.

The Rosanero captain is officially under investigation for buying telephone SIM cards for Mauro Lauricella, who is the son of alleged Mafia boss Antonino Lauricella.

"What happened to Miccoli is the proof it's best he leaves Palermo," Zamparini told Radio Radio this evening.

"Now he needs a change of air and can go to Dubai. I don't know the situation well, but unfortunately he couldn't have known that his friend was the son of a Mafioso."
