Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini insists he's right to criticise coach Francesco Guidolin for the team's form in the second-half of the season so far.

"At Christmas, for the camp in Seville, he said: 'President, this is the best team we have ever had. We can be in the Champions League'. Well, after the resumption of the championship we lost two consecutive matches," said Zamparini.

"When Guidolin talks about staying up, however, the talk is perhaps simple but correct. Once we reach 40 points, then we will see what can be done."
