Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has backtracked on criticism of Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara.
At the weekend, Zamparini spoke about Ferrara, apparently saying it was an error to hire him, a comment he denies making.
"I have not invented a scoop on Juve. I only replied to questions on Amauri and the crisis in Turin," Zamparini explained.
"I pointed out the burden on Ferrara's back, he a young trainer and he's under enormous pressure, and instead the concept that he isn't worth anything as a Coach has come to pass.
"The directors have made a mistake in burdening him with such great pressure. First Ferrara should get his experience. I have nothing to apologise for."
