Palermo midfielder Ilicic wants Serie A stay

Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic wants to stay in Italy.

The Slovenian trequartista has been linked with Bayer Leverkusen, Arsenal, Fiorentina, Juventus and Roma after Palermo's relegation into Serie B.

"I don't know if Palermo received an offer from Roma, but the clubs do have a strong rapport and director Walter Sabatini was the one who brought him to Italy," agent Amir Ruznic told ASRomaRadio.

"The only thing I can say is that there is a lot of interest around the lad. I know there is a proposal from a German club, which the newspapers say is Bayer Leverkusen.

"I have also been told there's a great deal of interest in Italy, but Palermo will tell you the names.

"Josip told me he wants to stay in Italy if he does leave Palermo."
