Palermo must almost double their offer to land Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva.
The young Brazil international is rated at £8 million by Liverpool management, which are willing to part with the midfielder.
Tuttosport says Palermo have opened the bidding with an offer of £5 million for Lucas.
