Palermo have declared interest in Hajduk Split striker Nikola Kalinic.

The Rosanero are turning to the young Croatian after being priced out of a move for Internacional de Porto Alegre striker Nilmar.

"I rate Kalinic," Palermo Vice-President Guglielmo Miccichè admitted.

"He is a good player with a promising future and he is doing well with his club and the Croatian national side."
