Palermo sports chief Walter Sabatini says they're on the brink of securing striker Edinson Cavani to a new contract.

The Uruguay international's new deal is expected to include a buyout clause with the likes of Tottenham and Inter Milan following his progress.

"We are very advanced, fully committed by both parties. He already had many years on his contract and this is to be further extended," said Sabatini. "Will a buyout clause be inserted? The president said this, no-one can doubt what he says."
