Palermo coach Devis Mangia is delighted with his new contract.

Mangia was promoted from the youth team when Stefano Pioli was sensationally sacked just 10 days before the start of the season, but has only now been handed an improved deal.

"The contract renewal makes me very proud, as it means the club has faith in me and is happy with what I have done so far," said Mangia of his two-year extension.

"At the same time, I feel sad that director of sport Sean Sogliano has resigned. He was the one who brought me here and he believed in me all the way. I had no idea his situation was so troubled."
